Our projects are small but intense, therefore we have the opportunity to accompany children on their journey through life, to work on the various problems and to promote their abilities.
Like the story of our little Mona:
Mona is seven years old and comes from one of the poorest neighborhoods in Kenya. Unfortunately, she couldn't speak because she couldn't hear anything. Mona was alone every day on the streets in her neighborhood.
We have now taken Mona in our Project and managed to collect enough donations to buy a hearing aid for her. Mona now attends her speech therapy every week and is very motivated to learn. We are very grateful to be able to walk this way with her together and we are positive about her future, that Mona will be able to speak very soon.
With your help and support, the children have the opportunity to realize their dreams, change their future and attend a private school.
Why a private school?
Public schools in Kenya often have more than 100 students in a class and there is lack of qualified teachers. That's why we fight to ensure that they receive high-quality learning so that they can really manage to stand on their own feet in the future. In private schools they also have the opportunity to participate on trainings in sports (swimming, ball sports, self-defense...) or music (singing, playing instruments, dancing...). Which is very important to escape the criminal reality on the streets.
In Kenya, every type of school attendance, whether public or private, has a fee and school uniforms are still required. The salary in Kenya is currently around €70 per month, that’s why it is almost impossible for most Kenyan families to pay for school fees in addition to rent and food.
Our youth center provides the children and youths a safe and loving place, where they can feel at home. They always have the opportunity to get to the youth center, home, to therapy, to school... safely and free of charge with our "ToMadeTo -TukTuk".
In our youth center they can play, learn, receive clean and nice cloths, good food, clean drinking water, the necessary medical care and also have the opportunity to take part in workshops, training courses, etc.
Cooking together, having the own garden and keeping animals gives the children and youths a daily task and shows them that you can do a lot of things yourself. All of this is necessary in order to be able to lead a healthy and independent life later.
This project creates new hope for many, not only for children and youths, but also for young adults. Through new permanent jobs, young women (mainly single mothers) also have the chance for a better life.
This project is a safe point of contact in times of need.
