ABOUT KENYA AND OUR CREATION
50% of Kenyans live in poverty. There are more than 3 million orphans. One of the main causes of loss of parents is HIV/AIDS. Many children leave their parents' home at a very young age because they have nothing to eat or drink at home or have to work that they can survive. Many also come from violent families and were sexually abused or forced into marriage at a very young age.
In Kenya, 40% of school-age children do not attend school or do not complete their basic education. Extreme poverty undermines their future prospects.
But let's not focus on this cruel reality here, let's focus on the dreams of children. Let us strengthen their hope, their love and their will to live and fight together for a better future.
In 2013 I (Silvia Tomasi) was in Kenya for the first time, as a volunteer with “Creative Hands Initiative” – an organization for children in the slums of Nairobi.
Later, a little destiny story took me to an orphanage in Mombasa, the “Cannan Orphanage”, during the Corona period, where I lived for 6 months and helped as a volunteer.
The time in such countries shows again and again how well we are actually doing and the desire to found our own organization to help other children grew.
Now we are a group of motivated people who have founded the To-Made-To association. Together we follow the dream of helping where we can and to making the world a little bit better.
Our motto:
TOGETHER WE GROW
